Six Degrees of Twitter

If everyone is connected as proven by the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon then Twitter would be the ultimate world model. The Science Channel had a brilliant show Last Sunday Night Called Connected: The Power of Six Degrees. They gave individuals all round the world a letter in a UPS envelope to be sent in less that six step ending with a delivery to a Professor in Boston. The person making the final delivery had to know the professor and hand deliver it. See YouTube video Connected - The Real Matrix



The theory of the network that was used in Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon involved Hubs ie Directors/Producers./Actors. These Hubs are from which the Films and Actors/Staff/Crew were positioned to create the network of people who were Six Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon.

Twitter now has several Major Hubs of which many of have begun to Follow with or without intention. Here is a couple of lists of the Followed who have now become Hubs in the Twitter version of Six Degrees. Does creation of these lists determine who the hubs will be and their power to direct communication?
